Tippen & Josephine Field Davidson Theater:
The intimate, yet grand 850-seat traditional proscenium theater with orchestra pit is state-of-the-art. Ideal for live theater, dance, concerts and recitals, the theater also offers a dramatic setting for business meetings, lectures and more. Great sight lines from every seat allow audience members to feel connected to the action on stage.

Elaine & Thurman Gillespy, Jr. Theater:
News-Journal Center´s 250-seat studio theater is a thrust-proscenium hybrid. The proscenium hides 28 counter-weight fly lines and movable baffles to close the opening arch down for smaller productions. The stage literally thrusts into the theater´s seating area allowing the audience to surround it.

GENTLE REMINDERS FOR NEWS-JOURNAL CENTER PATRONS

· Leave in enough time so you can be seated before the performance starts.
· Make sure all cell phones, beepers and alarm watches are silenced.
· No camera or video may be taken at anytime.
· Try to wait until intermission for a restroom break.
· Please be considerate. Leaning heads together blocks the view of the person behind you.
· The overture is part of the performance. Please cease talking at this time.
· The parking lot does get busy after the show, but leaving the show while in progress is discourteous.
· If you bring your child, make sure etiquette is part of the experience. Ask our helpful usher staff about our cry room in the Tippen & Josephine Field Davidson Theater.

Quiet, please.
